Hertfordshire Prosperity Boosts Town Centre Initiative
10 September 2005 in Chamber News
The Chambers Hoddesdon Town Initiative has received a boost following the commitment of funds by Hertfordshire Prosperity. Chamber Director, Kevin Brooks, a travel agent in the town said, “ I am delighted to receive tangible support from Hertfordshire Prosperity. it will be extremely useful in helping us to develop our objective of getting a town centre manager and will also encourage the traders in the town who have put in a great deal of time and effort to ensure that our plans move forward. If we could receive similar funding from other bodies I am convinced we will be able to deliver a real success story”.Like many town centres in the county Hoddesdon has suffered through the development of out of town shopping and other developments. The Chamber is committed to supporting strategies which provide a sustainable future for our market towns. Tim Hutchings, Chamber Chief Executive, the work Kevin and his colleagues are doing will benefit Hoddesdon but will ultimately help other towns as we disseminate the knowledge arising from our experience in moving this forward.
