Back to the Future super fans arrived dressed the part at the annual open air cinema evening at Hertford Castle. Crowds came dressed in character to the event held on Saturday 22nd August wearing branded

t-shirts, Doc’s wigs and even his white coat!

The event was organised by Hertford Town Council and sponsored by The Auto Agency and Thomas Childs & Co. Both sponsors are based in Hertford and promoted their services on the big screen before the film started.

Even with 1,300 tickets available, the event sold out over a month in advance. With perfect weather, the film started shortly after sunset at 8.30pm and the audience applauded at the end.

Ahead of the film, the public were able to soak up the atmosphere, purchase candyfloss, donuts and pizza to picnic on the castle lawn. Spectators were pleasantly surprised when they spotted a film replica DeLorean on the castle lawn.

Hertford Town Council would like the public to submit film suggestions for the 2016 Open Air Cinema event at Hertford Castle to events@hertford.gov.uk.

The Chairman of the Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: “It was a lovely evening, with Hertford Castle making the perfect backdrop for the film screening.  We were lucky to have perfect summer weather, and it was a great way to make the most of it.”
