A World Forum for SMEs 20-22 May 2008

Futurallia 2008 is an international business matchmaking event - similar to Partenariats and Europartenariats - that originated in France and is now being held for the third time in bi-lingual Canada. Futurallia 2008 will again be in Quebec City, capital of the Province of Quebec, which is home to a quarter of Canada's population.

Futurallia is aimed primarily at SMEs – in the sectors listed below - that are interested in the North American market, and it offers pre-arranged individual meetings with businesses from Canada and other countries. To get a flavour, visit the bi-lingual Futurallia web-site www.futurallia.com and click on Futurallia Quebec 2008

North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NHCCI) plans a trade mission to Canada in May 2008 that will include 1-2 days in Montreal followed by 2 days at Futurallia 2008 in Quebec City.

Futurallia is supported by the Quebec Government, and NHCCI is working with the Quebec Government Office (QGO) in London both to promote Futurallia 2008 throughout the UK and to provide an additional matchmaking service to UK SMEs during the visit to Montreal. We are doing this with the support of UKTI and with Enterprise Europe (formerly the Southern Area European Information Centre), the main regional organiser for partenariat matchmaking events in Europe.

The sectors on which Futurallia 2008 will concentrate are:

· Agri-Food

· Defence and security

· Geomatics

· Electronics

· Manufacturing equipment

· Environment and sustainable development

· Secondary wood processing

· Transportation equipment

· Optics/Photonics

· Information technologies/Life sciences/Health and nutrition

Participating companies are free to combine this multi-sector mission with other interests they may have in North America.

Those familiar with successful business matchmaking events elsewhere will appreciate how cost-effective such missions can be, especially for businesses new to a huge market like North America.

Space on the UK delegation will be limited, and we are therefore looking for businesses that are ready and able to tackle the North American market and whose interests lie in the sectors listed above.

To register your interest please complete and return the Enquiry Form as soon as possible and no later than Friday 11 April.
