Lots of local heroes are already in the running for this year’s Pride of Stevenage Awards, but there’s still time to celebrate your local heroes.

It only takes a minute to nominate local people and groups who are going the extra mile and making great things happen in Stevenage. The seven Pride of Stevenage Award categories to nominate in are: Caring Award, Dedication Award, Enterprise Award, Green Award, Sporting Award, Team Award, and Young Star Award.

Nominations close on Friday 11 August and then a panel of judges will select the winners

The Pride of Stevenage Awards 2017 will be presented at a prestigious community reception hosted by the Mayor on Saturday 14 October.

Stevenage Borough Council leader Cllr Sharon Taylor, who is chair of judges at the awards, said: “There is just one week to go before nominations close for the Pride of Stevenage Awards 2017 so I would call on as many people as possible to get their nominations in and say thank you to some of the shining stars in our community.

“We all know some fantastic people who give their time, skills and passion to good causes in Stevenage. They’ve got to be in it to win it so take a minute out of your day to nominate them and make their year.”
