Hertford retailers in partnership with the Town Council launched their first ever Christmas Challenge trail last Saturday as a part of the ‘Think Christmas Think Hertford’ Small Business Saturday.

The trail which will run until Christmas Eve (24th December) aims to get visitors to the town centre to go into the wide range of independent businesses in Hertford especially those shops they might never have seen or been in before.

There are two trails (green and red) of 15 shops as part of the Christmas Challenge.  Competition entrants have to collect at least 10 stickers from each trail to be awarded a Certificate of Competition and a small prize.

Cllr Isabel Sigmac who chairs the Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee said: “For the first time we are running the Hertford Indie Christmas Challenge trail. It is a free family fun activity to enjoy in Hertford Town centre. It is good that town centre businesses are, once again, getting into the Christmas spirit by taking part in the trail. I am sure that when they shop locally many Hertford residents will be surprised to discover the many hidden gems among the Independent businesses in the town.”
