Chamber Training - Operational Management: 'Working Smarter Not Harder'

Why attend a course on operational management?
Today’s SMEs face many challenges, not least of which is how to make the best of limited time and resources and so work smarter rather than harder.
Process improvement (Lean and Six Sigma) techniques can provide a foundation of sound working practices to ensure that all members of a business team fully understand what their customers value, and can deliver that value as efficiently as possible whilst providing high quality products and services.

What will the course consist of?
This half-day course will introduce participants to a structured approach and a selection of tools for:

  1. Clarifying customer requirements and business deliverables in relation to these
  2. Measuring and analyzing performance
  3. Identifying and evaluating opportunities for improving performance

The course will combine short presentations with interactive discussions and exercises.  Participants will also explore how they can take their learnings forward.

Who is the course designed for?
This course will be of benefit to MDs, senior managers and team leaders who wish to find ways to implement good business practices for making more effective and efficient use of their and their staff’s time, resources and talent.
No prior knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma is assumed and all jargon will be explained in simple terms.

Who will be delivering the course?
Elisabeth Goodman is the Owner and Principal Consultant of RiverRhee Consulting (http://www.riverrhee.com), a consultancy that helps business teams to enhance their effectiveness for greater productivity and improved team morale.  She has 25+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry where she has held line management and internal training and consultancy roles supporting scientific and business support teams on a global basis.  Elisabeth is an approved and registered coach and trainer with the Growth Accelerator, a member of APM (Association for Project Management) and CILIP (Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals).  She is accredited in Lean Sigma, in Change Management, in MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) and is an NLP Practitioner.  Elisabeth has a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Information Science.
