The Chamber’s quarterly environmental forum programme provides a strategic platform, cross-industry and cross-sector, for senior decision makers and key executives to explore innovative and pragmatic approaches to reconciling profitability, the environment and sustainability.
Businesses and experts from across the county collaborate and knowledge share on projects such as environmental management systems, clean technology, recycling, water conservation and other sustainable business practices.
Every town and civil planning programme in the county has the consideration of environmental impact at its heart and we work in collaboration with them to educate and inform the local community on reducing carbon footprint and sustainability. We are very fortunate to have as a Patron Affinity Water, based in Hatfield, who have their own very rigorous environmental policies relating to water conservation. It is a relationship that is important to us and we constantly look for ways to promote good environmental practice in water conservation.
One of the most popular categories in our Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards is the Environmental category, testifying the importance within the business community of sound environmental practice and execution in local processes and operations.
In our members’ magazine we spotlight local businesses investing in environmental best practice and run regular features covering topics such as anaerobic digestion, waste management, carbon emissions reduction and energy conservation.
