Neville was appointed a CBE, in the 2001 New Year Honours, for services to business, holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Hertfordshire and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire in 2003. Neville, a champion of Innovation established the Centre for Integrated Photonics (CIP) Ltd, a research and development centre based in Ipswich. He successfully set up and chaired, the Greater Cambridge-Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership. He currently retains non-executive Director roles as Chairman of Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, Young Chamber UK, Groundwork Hertfordshire, Luton/Bedfordshire, a £3 million charity in the sustainable environment area, and sits on the IoD Regional Council for the East of England.
He was President of the British Chamber of Commerce (2008-2011) and is now an Honorary President. He is Chairman of the University of Hertfordshire (UH), Business School Advisory Group, Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Group in the School of Electronic, Communication and Technology and is a visiting Professor at the UH School of Learning.
